Happy 2010 everyone!
It's a busy time of year here, and I got sick so there was no anything website-wise for a while, but it forced me to sleep lots so I still had a good holiday.
And what do you know... finally bounced back on a Friday. Yay! Comicness.
Yay Back!
Made it back in one piece and even made my update deadline (chibi cop-out admittedly, but it could have been worse)... I probably should have taken jetlag into account when I was planning the update deadline, but I was originally supposed to get back earlier. They cancelled my connecting flight and redirected me through an extra country ^_^;... then they lost my luggage >_<; but I even have that back now, so all it right in the world again.
Comic Situation
I can't work on the comic until November, at which point it shall return in full force. The reason why (for anyone who's interested) is because I have a 10,000word paper to finish in two weeks followed by a nomadic period where i'll be working as a traveling interpreter for some drawing workshops. I almost feel like i'm joining the circus, but it'll be less sparkly (probably).
I wont have access to a computer, or anything else apart from what will fit in my daypack for that matter, but I'll take a notebook and sketch down ideas so I have a backlog of them when I get back. One of the biggest problems for me in trying to do anything creative weekly is writers/artists block so things will be a lot easier if I have a backlog for weeks when my brain won't work.

GoKoneko - Mini Voltron Comic
I made a Voltron comic and it was so much fun I made a second one. After going to that much trouble how could I help but sign myself up for more? :P So i'm going to be updating them on Sundays from now on.
Sunday, 12th April 2009Karuta Card Reader and Website Tweaking
I've started teaching myself Flash and made a card reader for the Karuta page, it's given me a way of displaying each of the picture cards alongside their corresponding Japanese reading card and English translation.
Of course, having tried introducing that to the existing html pages showed up some coding issues in Internet Explorer, so in the end I rebuilt each page from scratch (fixing a few other errors while I was at it) and the site now has a lot more CSS in it.
I only ever use IE for testing my webpages, because it annoys me no end and I'm a Firefox geek. But I'm pretty sure most people on the internet use IE, so I try my best to make it work in both browsers. I'm pretty sure I got everything sorted this time round.
Project Wonderful
I'm adding a small Project Wonderful button ad box to the right, in the long haul towards saving up for my yearly webhosting and domain fees, they're not much, but I'm not really expecting a large income from two buttons, and that's why I can keep it at that. Besides I'm starting off the ad bidding at $0 ^_^. So anyway, for the moment at least, if you have a Project Wonderful account and you'd like free advertising, go for it! ...yay!
I thought I may as well put up a button for the hosting company I'm with while I'm at it, because I've found them really good and feel like recommending them to people :)

Pidge is all set up with his own Twitter account now, and thanks to the Simple JavaScript Twitter Feed by Navarr, the tweets are being happily fed straight into a box on the AskPidge page. But of course, feel free to actually follow Pidge from your own account if you have one. He'd love that.
Online Games
I've put up some online Java games. Although please don't mistake me for someone who can actually program in Java, I got them from a site that has customizable java applets, and spent an inordinate amount of time tweaking them for our voltron fangeek pleasure :)
The first one is actually an old one I used to have up on a previous incarnation of this site, which I found in the depths of my pc archives, and is what gave me the idea of looking for new ones too. It's kind of like tic-tac-toe but 5 in a row and on a bigger board. You (Lion Voltron) battle against the computer (Robeast Mutilor). The second game is a simple puzzle applet which I have two picture versions of up at the moment, and the last game is hangman. I hope you like them.

GaTtai is made in Notepad using mainly HTML and CSS with some PHP and a little bit of Flash MX, it is optimized for Firefox (although I check to make sure it works in Internet Explorer as well)
